Chris Herre, Elder

Chris grew up in Prairie Village, Kansas, attended the Shawnee Mission school district, and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1980 with a degree in architecture. Chris met Marcia in 1979, and they were married in 1981. They have two daughters who both attended KU; one is in social media advertising in Nashville, Tennessee, and the other is a nurse in the Kansas City area.

Chris gave his life to the Lord in high school and was a lifelong member of the Methodist church. Chris and Marcia joined Crossroads in 2010 and were baptized there.

In 2023, Chris enrolled in seminary at Liberty University and completed a Master’s of Christian Ministry. He was ordained in the Christian Church in 2025 and now preaches at Shawnee Hills Senior Living throughout the year. At Crossroads, he is serving on the welcome committee and has taught several small groups. In his spare time, Chris enjoys golf, artwork, traveling, riding his E-bike, and reading.
