Blended and Blessed

 

This is a one-day livestream simulcast specifically designed for stepfamily couples, dating couples with kids, and those who care about blended families.  At this event we will unpack strategies that are crucial to building unity in your stepfamily.  Blended and Blessed will challenge, inspire and encourage you.

Due to low registration the decision has been made to turn this into a small group meeting with multiple sessions.  If you are interested in joining this group please contact Tom Haim to let him know.

Spring Clean

April 27 @ 8:00a

The Missions Ministry Team is hosting a Spring Clean up day on April 27th beginning at 8:00a.  We will have three projects with a variety of needs and skills.  These projects would be good community service opportunities for you and your family.

Project #1:    Fence row and overgrown brush clean up and hauling.

Project #2:    Mild landscaping and brush clan up.

Project #3:    Exterior house scraping and painting.

On the day of the event you will arrive at the location that we tell you and meet with the project supervisor to get instructions on what you will do.  Some supplies and tools will be required.

May PrimeTime

May 1 @ 6:30p

You are invited to join in the Ordination service for Ben Sander.   As you know, the Sander family will be moving to South Dakota in a couple of months to begin the work of starting a new church.  This service will be a special dedication time for Ben along with a prayer of blessing for both Ben and Kelli as they prepare to go.

The service will begin promptly at 6:30p.  There will be no meal, but immediately following the service we will have a reception time for you to touch base with the Sanders.  The Fellowship Team will be serving desserts at the reception.

Strong Women in God’s Service

May 2 @ 11:30a

Join the SWINGS group on Thursday, May 2nd for a time fellowship, food and encouragement.   We will start meeting at 11:00a to visit.  Lunch will be served at 11:30a.  At 12:00p Ben Sander will shareing some details in the next steps of his journey.

Men’s Fellowship Breakfast

May 4 @ 8:00a

Join us for a guys get together over a warm breakfast.  Build a bond with other Crossroads guys and hear encouraging, challenging and inspirational messages from a variety of people each month.  Guys 16y and older are welcome.

Breakfast is free but we will accept donations to defer the cost.  Please let us know you’re coming by using the link below so we know how much to prepare for.

Crossroads Cruisers

Twice a month

The Crossroads Cruisers riding season will begin on April 20th.  This year, our schedule includes a total of 12 local rides (1 possibly in the Shawnee Parade), one 3-day ride in late June and a 2-day ride in late September. This is an open group.  So, feel free to join us and invite friends to join us on any of these rides.

Shelby Sunday

May 5

Shelby is the name of our Crossroads membership program that we use to communicate.  If you regularly attend on Sunday at Crossroads we would encourage you to set-up or update your account so that we can communicate with you better.

Shelby Sunday is a once a month  time when our Follow-Up Ministry Team will be available to help you with setting up a Shelby account, talk with you about how to use the program, checking yourself and your kids in on Sunday morning and helping you set your profile pictures.

Visit the Welcome Center area on that Sunday, before or after each service, and we will have someone there to help you.

Fundraisr

May 12

We will host a pancake breakfast during the 8 am service on Mother’s Day this year. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a pancake breakfast put together and served by the students of SM@C, we will be serving all you can eat pancakes, with sausage and Orange juice for $3 bucks per person.

We will also accept good will donations – all money that is raised will go directly to offsetting the cost of CIY and CYAKOMO for our middle school and high school students.

Men’s Golf

May 13 @ 8:00a

The Men’s Golf Outing will resume this May 13th.  Come to sharpen your game, but more importantly, come to build a bond with other Crossroads guys.  

We will at the Burning Tree Golf Course in Desoto, Ks.  Tee Times begin at 8:00a.  Cost is $32 per person which includes a cart.  If you want to be put on the email contact list, visit our “Men’s Connect Page.”  Otherwise, just show up.

Women’s Coffee & Connection

May 18 @ 9:00a

Come participate in a casual, warm and welcome time of fellowship, with a cozy cup of coffee.  This is a great way to connect with other women from Crossroads.  We plan to have coffee gatherings every other month.

Our May meeting place will be at The Prayer Box Cafe in Lenexa.

Promotion Sunday

June 2nd

Promotion Sunday is the day that students will transfer to the appropriate class based on the grade that they will be attending next fall.  On that Sunday you will notice th grade change when you check in your student.  Just take your child to the appropriate class and celebrate another milestone.

All current 5th graders are asked to attend the 10:45a service and meet in the 5th grade class as normal.  Once service starts they will be escorted up to the loft for games and an introduction to Student Ministry.

Following the service parents of the “new 6th graders” will be encouraged to come up for a “New Parent” meeting.  Here you can learn what to expect out of student ministry, meet sponsors and ask questions.

Register for Camp!

As you begin to prepare for the new year…make sure to mark it on your calendar to send your kids to one of our summer youth camps.  There will be a few changes that we will explain later, but for now…make note of the dates below and plan to attend.

Middle School Camp          6-8th Grades                                 June 2 – 7

2nd – 3rd Camp                  2nd to 3rd Grades                         June 27-28

4th & 5th Camp                  5th & 6th Grades                           June 30 – July 3

*You will enroll your child or student based on the grade they will enter into next fall.

Vacation Bible School

Jun 10-13

This summer we will be hosting a VBS program called BOLT.  It is a “totally tubular” journey through the early church with an 80’s theme.  VBS will be on June 10th – 13th from 6:00p to 8:30p.  It is for ages 3y to 5th grade with the 3y to 5y following a seperate schedule.  

This will be a large event and we will have a need for donations and volunteers so even if you don’t have kids, make sure to keep this date clear and help us make VBS 2024 a great one.

Sr. High Summer Trip

July 7 – 12

Christ In Youth is a 5-day conference located in Cleveland, TN.  This week will be packed with travel fun, white water rafting, powerful teaching, inspirational worshp and impactful messages.  This conference is for students who will be entering 9-12th grades next fall.  Graduating Seniors are also invited to come.
